A sci-if shroud for the XShot Piston Pump. Other versions coming but for now this is the main one.
Usual Disclaimer
I print and test largely in PETG. So if your not doing the same (even if you are) I suggest you cut the model in half horizontally and then cut it again to do a small print of the back area where you can test the fit of the tab (printed separately and glued in) as well as the top rail/coupler/clips. And then do a small test print of the front to confirm the larger opening works for you and that the path for the barrel is not to tight/loose.
Features
- Uses an optional o-ring for barrel retention and the front. This added last minute so I hope it works however it is. It needed as the shroud uses the default collet
- Top rail prints on its own and uses two M3x12 screws.
- Uses a clip in tab to help secure the shroud below the grip area
- Uses a clip on top of the pic rail with bars you print to slide them in to help secure the shroud via the top rail
- Has screw holes to allow for using screws into the collet (I don’t use that personally so I don’t know how effective it really is)
- Recessed front area to support push on or other types of accuracy attachments that are 22mm or less in diameter.
- Tab is printed separately and glued in.
Upcoming
- A version you print in half horizontally and then use hardware to screw together.
Print Suggestions
- Position how you like but I placed the back of the grip area on the print bed and used tree supports. 3 – 6 walls based on abuse you plan to put it through and infill based on how heavy you want it.
