The CONDUCTOR’S REVOLVER, as it is coloquially named for lack of an official title, is another blaster in a cyber-future where german trains must run on time, no matter what.
It is a low-tech sidearm that has spread since the beginning of 2395 as the default blaster for head train conductors due to its small size, semi-automatic pre-loading functionality, ability to front-chamber both 38mm caseless half darts as well as 74mm caseless full length darts, and it fitting into the standard-sized cupholder GenCo train helms are outfitted with.
The blaster has not been given an official designation by the Megawerke yet due to its still pending efficiency classification, but is being produced nonetheless.
Technically speaking, this is a springer blaster that uses 7 (yes, seven) plunger systems, aranged in a revolver configuration. The plunger systems are harvested from X-Shot Micros. They are surprisingly powerful for their size.
All of them can be pre-loaded and pre-primed, to then fire 7 shots semi-auto. It is an experiment in moving the loading, priming and firing actions around a bit to see what happens. The blaster can shoot half-darts (if you remove the dart posts) as well as full length darts.
It has no electronics whatsoever, does not require batteries, and can probably be used under water if need be.
Additionally, for weight-considerations there is an N-Strike stock attachment point on the back. The blaster is fairly front heavy with that cylinder, so having a way to balance it out seemed like a good idea.
It also comes with 2×7 slots of onboard dart storage and N-Strike compatible rails.
It fires about 20 meter in a straight line, and 25 meter at an angle. The idea with this blaster is that you can top it off as desired and always have a few shots ready.
Changelog:
v1.0
– Initial Release
v1.1
– Adjusted the grip so it can’t rub against the bottom of the primed plunger
– Tightened the cam frame just a little, so the cylinder doesn’t rattle when running around.
– Filed off a few corners here and there, for smoother cam movements.
v1.2
– Adjusted the rubber hook of the trigger to have a deeper channel. It seems the proper one disappeared in the file sets at some point. Weird.
– Fixed the track bar not having the required filet to fully engage the plungers. That too seems to have disappeared together with the hook. :S
Printing and Assembly
All parts can be printed on a bed of 180mm edge length. Personally I tend to print with 4 walls and 10% cubic infill.
