The Magpie Mk2 is a redesign from the ground up of the original Magpie revolver. A six shot revolver, shooting from the top chamber, it’s hammer firing and double action. The mechanism is more reliable with a rotational lock to make it fire much more consistently. It’s also break action, which is both cooler and makes it work for both right and left hand users.
The Mk2 features:
- Fully ambidextrous
- Easier to print
- More reliable
- No delrin parts
- Multiple cage/wheel options
Please check the build guide here before buying the files to make sure you are ready to build it: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/c20tk76ravopdb3rtf2j7/Magpie-mk2-build.pdf?rlkey=lmhgpctgcxnpk811zmpsy8loa&dl=0

The original version is also available for free still on Thingiverse.

I built the ejecting shell version, but lemme tell you, this is a pain in the build to build. i know the build guide gives the dimensions for them, the right springs you have to end up guessing and/or cutting your own. the performance is pretty lackluster on the ejecting. unfortunately to make room for the super cool ejecting, you have to give up room on your flywheel spacing. so Lokis with nightingale is getting me about 70 FPS. My biggest complaint though is that there’s no heat set inserts or nuts anywhere on the blaster. given the complexity of this blaster, needing to tune the firing system means opening and closing the shell multiple times. which is not great for 3d printed threads.
i was really looking forward to making this blaster, so much so that i printed 2 of them. but after struggling to assemble one, i probably wont get to the second one 🙁
